Francesco De Santis has been flying paramotors since 1991, when he and fellow Armed Forces veteran Arnim Vogel were among the first to fly in Canada. Check began teaching in 1994, earned his P4 in paragliding in 1997 and currently holds an Instructor/Administrator rating with the USPPA. He has been the MiniPlane importer in the U.S. since 1999.

Check taught for several years near Tampa, Florida. In 2000, he met Dawn when he taught her to fly. In 2009 they moved back to her family farm in Iowa, where they enjoy being able to fly from their own field.

Check is currently available for advanced lessons, refresher courses and tandem instruction.
